In the day’s of Christ’s ministry, the Kingdom of God was about to become a reality!
Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner; This was from the Lord, And it is marvelous in our eyes? Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken away from you, and shall be given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. (Matt 21:42-43)
- The chief corner stone was in place… building was ready to commence!
- The Architect of the universe had planned it from the foundation of the world.
- The builders (Jewish leaders) rejected the chief corner stone (Jesus) in order that other living stones (Gentiles) could be selected and shaped away from the temple site in Jerusalem.
- Their sole purpose was to bring forth the fruits of the Spirit and follow their head, Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Almighty God, thank you for working on the rough edges of my personality, so that at the coming of Your Son, I might become a lively stone, built up into a spiritual house, acceptable to You, through Jesus Christ my Lord.
Supporting verses: The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. (Psa 118:22-24)
To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. (1 Pet 2:4-5)
